Victorian Peacock by Naboo-Girl Victorian Peacock by Naboo-Girl
My Victorian Peacock costume I designed. [link] Inspired by Victorian fashion and of course the beautiful peacock. Worn over full victiorian undergarments, including my corset. [link] I used 15 yards of blue satin for the skirt, overskirt drape, collar, and train. I spent over 100 hours handbeading the bodice and the trim around the sleeves and skirt drape. Each of the 200 peacock feathers I sewed on individually by machine onto the detachable collar and train.
Total cost = $350

Victoria DID become empress of India, so this could have happened via use of Indian peacock feathers.
Gorgeous work.

This dress is just breathtakingly beautiful. The folds at the bottom just make the dress. Wow! Great work!
I've seen other peacock dresses but none have been as great as this.

Alright, I am totally amazed and enthralled by your craftsmanship. Now, I have an proposition. How much would you charge to make me a similar dress? I work at a Renaissance Festival in Oklahoma, and I play the part of the caretaker of the peacocks that are on the grounds. This would be a perfect dress for the Masked Ball we hold.

i typed in victorian and this was the first thing that caught my eye. its simplicity was so fresh. and the blue is such a bold colour to match with peacock feathers.

nice one. what's next?

i'd say at least $800.

If you'd buy it from a seamstress, I'd imagine it'd cost you some $1600-3000, easily.

The price here seems to be the material costs. I'd like to know the working hours that went into the gown in stead, that defines quite a bit better what it'd cost when sold. :)

I could pour over all of your embroidery for hours- it's just so incredible to me! This is my personal favourite of everything in your gallery (the gold PotC dress is a close second!). What great attention to detail you have, I love how you treated the sleeves on this gown. It's perfectly Victorian!

A major thumbs up from someone who couldn't cut a straight line in fabric to save her life.
