My Victorian Peacock costume I designed. [link] Inspired by Victorian fashion and of course the beautiful peacock. Worn over full victiorian undergarments, including my corset. [link] I used 15 yards of blue satin for the skirt, overskirt drape, collar, and train. I spent over 100 hours handbeading the bodice and the trim around the sleeves and skirt drape. Each of the 200 peacock feathers I sewed on individually by machine onto the detachable collar and train.
Total cost = $350

This is absolutely amazing. Consider me gobsmacked. How long did it take to make? Will you be posting more views of it?

Imaginary girl, this is a song for you

Holy crap indeed! You really went through a lot of pain for this garment! Gods, I know no words will have enough meaning to convey my sheer awe at your skill and patience. You even embroidered the corset. Sick. You're incredible!

out of curiosity, i'm planning to buy a sewing machine, so ... any suggestion? like what kind of feature i should look for or pay more attention to?

by the way, breathtakingly beautiful dress!

I personel recommend a Pfaff sewing machine. That's what I have and I love it. There a quite a few different qualities of machines, some fancier than others. It all depends on what you're looking for and what type of sewing you want to do. The expensiver machines of more of the fancier stitches used for embroidery. I have one of the simpler machines and it works just fine for what I do.
